Marko Lesić is the founder of Nexus Private Equity Partners, as well as Nexus Advisory which is specialized in investment banking and capital markets advisory services, from M&A, project finance and capital markets transactions to structuring PPP transactions. Before Nexus, Marko was with Zagrebačka banka for 8 years, starting in Investment Banking, where he built his expertise and experience working on broad range of investment banking transactions, and advancing to becoming the Bank's Head of Treasury. Also, Marko is a member of the Audit Committee of Atlantic Group's Supervisory Board.
During the last 15 years, Marko had the opportunity to participate in most benchmark transactions in the Croatian and regional capital markets, from the first Croatian sovereign and corporate bond issues, Croatian and international syndicated loans, privatization advisory and strategic advisory to Croatian blue-chip companies, to structuring and execution of PPPs and MBOs.
Marko graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb, received the MBA degree at INSEAD, France, and is a certified investment advisor licensed by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency.
Krešimir Ružđak joined Nexus Advisory in November 2007, as Assistant Managing Director and after founding Nexus Private Equity Partners occupies current position. Before Nexus, Krešimir worked in investment banking divisions of leading Croatian banks for 8 years, out of which 3 years in Zagrebačka banka where, among other positions, he occupied the position of Manager for a number of equity stakes in bank's portfolio and 5 years in Privredna banka Zagreb where he participated and led many capital markets transactions and was developing complex financing structures occupying positions of Project Manager in Capital Markets Department and afterwards a Director of Structured Finance Department.
Krešimir has an extensive and wide experience in investment banking, from management of equity stakes in different industries which encompassed restructuring, financial statements analysis, creating exit strategies and their execution, to an experience in originating and executing issues of bonds and commercial papers, due diligence procedures, share capital increases, financial advisory for listing shares on a stock exchange, project finance, M&A transactions, identifying strategic/financial investor and preparation of feasibility studies.
Krešimir holds a BA in Economics from the Faculty of Economics & Business at the University of Zagreb, holds the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation awarded by CFA Institute and is a certified investment advisor licensed by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency.
Marko is a former Head of Capital Markets of Zagrebacka banka, the largest Croatian bank, a member of the UniCredit Group. In 2000, Marko joined the Directorate for Integration Strategy of the Croatian Ministry for European Integration. As Head of Analytics Department he worked on supporting the process of integration of Croatia into the European Union, focusing on economic issues, in both preparation and implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the National Programme for Integration of Croatia into the EU. In 2003, Marko joined the Investment Banking team of Zagrebacka banka where he remained until leaving for Nexus in January 2008. During his career at Zagrebacka banka Marko participated and, later as Head of Capital Markets, managed all local and international transactions that the bank arranged and executed in the capital markets, including all sovereign, municipal and corporate debt issues (bonds and commercial papers), sovereign and corporate equity transactions (IPOs and SEOs), as well as structured finance and syndicated loans and financial advisory. Marko was responsible for advising clients on the optimum structure of funding in the capital markets, closing deals and executing transactions in all aspects, from preparing underlying documentation required, negotiations with clients and other arrangers, relationship with investors, stock exchange, settlement agency, regulatory authority, to final settlement of transactions in the market.
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb and receiving the MA degree at the Sussex European Institute of the University of Sussex,UK, Marko continued his education at training programmes and seminars in Croatia and abroad, in both fields of EU integration and investment banking, such as ADEPT Structural Funds Training in Rotterdam, and Investment Banking courses organized by Bocconi, Milano.
Marko is the Vice-President of the Management Board of the Croatian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and he is the Vice-President of the Association of the Fund Managers at the Croatian Chambers of Economy. Also, Marko is a Supervisory Board Member of several Croatian companies.
Krunoslav joined Nexus as Investment Director in 2008. Before joining Nexus, Krunoslav served 6 years in variety of financial roles within Corporate finance and Controlling functions of PLIVA, the largest Croatian and regional pharmaceutical company. Prior to PLIVA, he was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
During the last 9 years, Krunoslav worked on multiple international audit and due diligence assignments, M&A activities, coordination and valuation of investment projects, budgeting, reporting and forecasting processes, business process restructuring and IPO activities.
Krunoslav holds a BA in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb, has received an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University, holds an ACCA degree from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is a certified investment advisor licensed by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency.
Darko Mucić joined Nexus in June 2011. In the period prior to joining Nexus, Darko was with Ernst & Young where he participated in audits, due diligences and reviews of companies from different branches of business, such as the financial sector, telecommunications and FMCG (Croatian national bank, Hrvatski Telekom, Agrokor Group, Zagrebačka pivovara).
Since joining Nexus, Darko gained extensive experience in private equity and venture capital industry. He is involved in evaluation and analyses of potential projects, market research, company valuations, legal and financial due diligences. Furthermore, he participates in numerous investment projects, by working on investment structuring, negotiations, preparation of investment documentation, supervision and monitoring of portfolio companies, including budgeting, consulting, strategic planning and exit preparations.
Darko graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business and is a certified auditor of the Croatian Audit Chamber, as well as an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) member. He participated in numerous economic and management seminars in Croatia and abroad.
Nadja Schaps Horvat joined Nexus in 2011 as an Investment Analyst in the Investment Department. Nadja is responsible for analysis of companies' operations, valuations, following and improving the business of companies from the portfolio of existing investments, as well as for other tasks in the domain of this Department. Her career began during her student internship at Glencore, Swiss based global company, in the department of Finance and Risk Management. In late 2010, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb (major in Finance) and received the Dean's Award for the best student of the generation. She was a member of several student associations, vice president of the Finance Club of the Faculty, part of the experimental group of additional education for the best students of the Faculty and student assistant at the Department of Commercial Law. She spent one semester at the Faculty of Economics in Zurich, Department of Finance and Banking, and received a full scholarship for an intensive course of Russian language at the University of Lomonosov in Moscow. During her education she participated in various seminars and courses, and was co-author of several articles. In 2013 she was rewarded with a full scholarship for the program 'Innovative women of Croatia'. Nadja is a CFA Level II candidate. In future she plans to further educate herself, especially in the areas of private equity and project management.
Nadja's mother tongues are Croatian and German, and she is fluent in English, Russian and Spanish. She is a member of the LeanIn Circle Croatia and a participant of the Thinker's Impact Series lectures.
Andreja Voloder joined the Nexus team in July 2008 as Head of Risk and Compliance. Prior to joining Nexus, Andreja was with the Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF) for 5 years, a private equity management group headquartered in Washington DC, one the first active in Croatia. During the five years in SEAF, Andreja gained extensive experience in private equity and venture capital industry. Andreja was involved in evaluation of potential projects, analyses of financial statements, market research, company valuation, legal and financial due diligence. Furthermore, she participated and led investment projects, that included investment structuring, negotiations, preparation of investment documentation, supervision and monitoring of portfolio companies, including budgeting, consulting, strategic planning and exit preparations.
Prior to SEAF, Andreja worked with the Ministry of Finance, Pliva and Banka Sonic, where she gained comprehensive regulatory, coroprate and banking experience.
Andreja graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb, at which she later received the MA degree, and graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Maja Kos joined the Nexus team in July 2008 as Head of Finance and Accounting.
Prior to joining Nexus, Maja was Head of Mutual Fund Department in CEBA INVEST and KD Investments, fund management companies. During the last 7 years in these investment funds, Maja gained an extensive experience in operations and management of investment funds. She led and participated in numerous business processes including setting-up back office departments, Mutual Fund market analyses, software implementation and development, coordination of accounting and controlling, as well as many other internal organizational and process-oriented projects.
Prior to moving to investment fund industry, Maja worked in "HA jedan", a former mandatory pension fund, and in Allianz Zagreb, an insurance company part of the Allianz Group, where she gained comprehensive corporate and insurance experience.
Although begining her career early, Maja continued her education and is about to graduate from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb.
Krešimir Lesić, dipl. iur., LLM – Legal Advisor
Kresimir Lesic works with Nexus Private Equity Partners as a legal advisor in daily operations as of 2008. Prior to working with Nexus, Kresimir was attorney at local law office „Vladimir Marić & Davor Drugović“ where he accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of corporate, civil and labour law.
Kresimir councils Nexus in pre-/post-investment activities and corporate transactions in takeover, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) areas, and as a procurator in several companies handles legal affairs in corporate, commercial, contract and labour law issues.
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb in 2002 and passing the bar exam, he continued his education and in 2004 received his LL.M. in French and European juridical culture, and in 2005 LL.M. in French, European and International business law, both at the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).
Kresimir passed the bar exam and is appointed judge of second instance council before the Court of Honour with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and is an appointed Arbitrator in proceedings without an international element before the Permanent Arbitration Court at the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
